I am laying my scars bare before you. I am showing you a part of me that I once was painfully ashamed of and hid. This is so that others do not feel alone. Maybe you need someone to show that there is healing so that you can begin healing as well. Maybe you hide behind a happy face but underneath you are alone and screaming to be seen and be heard – be loved and accepted for you who are. Maybe your pain glows red under your long sleeves: seared into your flesh. Maybe you try to numb it with alcohol, or drugs, or sex, or achievement.
I call it The Ache . . . and there is healing. Join me.
